The Summer Fashion Trends I Couldn’t Resist

Even though summer is almost over (tears), I’m holding onto every last bit of sunshine until I can’t anymore. Summer has always been my absolute favorite season—it’s when I feel the most alive. Between beach days, poolside lounging, boat rides, and all the watersports, it’s truly my happy place. As a true Cancer, I’m my best self when I’m in or near the water, and that’s something you just can’t replicate once fall and winter roll around.

Some people say summer isn’t the most fashionable season, but I couldn’t disagree more. To me, summer style is all about easy resort wear, bold colors, and timeless chic looks that feel effortless yet elevated. Just like every season, summer brings its own standout trends—and this year was no exception. So before we officially say goodbye to the season, I’m rounding up a few of my favorite summer 2025 trends that I couldn’t get enough of:

Polka Dots

Playful yet timeless, polka dots made a big splash this summer. They give that retro, feminine vibe while still feeling fresh and chic. I love how they work just as well on a flowy sundress as they do on a sleek jumpsuit. Personally, I leaned into polka dots on lightweight dresses for day outings—they instantly made me feel polished without trying too hard.

Capris

Capris definitely had a moment, and honestly, I didn’t think I’d get back into them. But styled right, they’re surprisingly chic. Pairing cropped pants with strappy heels or sleek mules gave me that effortless, Y2K-inspired vibe while still looking modern. I love that they’re practical for summer heat but still feel like an intentional fashion choice.

Nautical Aesthetics

This is one of those aesthetics I never get tired of.  Think stripes, rope details, crisp whites, and deep navy hues. Nautical style is summer’s forever classic—easy, polished, and perfect for everything from seaside escapes to city strolls.  I pulled this look into my wardrobe with striped dresses, tops and breezy wide-leg trousers—it’s the perfect blend of relaxed and refined. Even when I wasn’t near the water, the nautical vibe instantly transported me to someone’s yacht.

Scarf Tops

A trend that screams carefree summer energy. Scarves tied as tops are equal parts flirty and versatile—perfect for festivals, beach days, or a spontaneous night out. They were such a fun way to keep my summer looks flirty and carefree. It’s such an easy trend that adds a playful twist to your wardrobe.

Crochet

Crochet will forever give effortless summer vibes. It’s the perfect balance of laid-back and chic, and it works whether you’re poolside, headed to brunch, or dressing up for a summer night out. I love crochet because it adds texture and instantly makes an outfit feel more interesting. A crochet cover-up over a bikini is a beach classic, but I also like the idea of a crochet dress with sleek sandals for a casual evening look. Even crochet tops paired with wide-leg pants or denim shorts make for an easy, stylish outfit. It’s one of those trends that never really goes away — and I’m not mad about it.

Summer always feels like it goes by too quickly, but I love soaking up every last moment while I can. These trends made the season even more fun and gave me new ways to play with my style. As the days get shorter, I’ll definitely miss the sun, the water, and the easy summer vibes—but I’m grateful for all the memories and looks that came with it.
