How to Look Sexy but Classy

Some of us want to look sexy. Some of us want to look classy.  Then there are those of us who want both!  It's something you really have to think about when executing.  Some looks can be overly sexy and borderline trashy.  There is no such thing as too classy.  But depending on the person, the setting, or the event, some classy looks can be boring or can age a person (think Kate Middleton).  There are rules and guidelines to pull off a sexy but classy look.  It's an art that many don't think about. 

The number one rule to pulling off this look is to show off one sexy body part (cleavage, legs, back), and cover the rest.  If your dress is form fitting and shows major cleavage, then the dress should fall at least to your knees.  If you're wearing a super tight, mini dress that shows cleavage, then it's probably not classy.  When wearing a form fitting mini dress, the cleavage area should be fairly covered.  If your whole back is out, your cleavage and legs should be covered.  With this rule, your're showing a little sex appeal but you're not showing everything.  There are exceptions to this rule.  When wearing long gowns or maxi dresses, you can show a little more.  A gown with major cleavage and a high slit or cut outs can still be classy because of the long length.

Pay attention to fabrics, colors, and prints.  Some are more sophisticated or sexy than others.  Satin has always been a classy, sophisticated fabric.  A stretch satin, bodycon midi dress is classy just because of the fabric.  Lycra is closer to the sexy side so be careful with it.  Jersey knit is normally a mix of both and it's a classic.  It clings to your curves but it's not super tight.  Pay close attention to leopard prints.  Leopard print can be both sexy and classy depending on the fabric and fit of the dress.  But it's normally on the sexy side, sometimes too sexy.  When wearing leopard, a toned down cut and silhouette in a sophisticated fabric is best.  The same applies to other bright or loud prints.  Just like prints, some colors are more sophisticated than others, like red.  Lol. Everyone knows how much I love red.  I wrote a long post about it a while ago.  But seriously, red is a classic color like black, white, ivory, or gold.  Purple and emerald are also sophisticated colors because they're royal colors.  These are not hard rules, just guidelines.

The last thing to remember is to be confident.  It shows and it makes a difference.  It shows in the way you walk, talk, and the overall way you carry yourself.  Confidence makes you look ten times sexier and classier.  You want to turn heads and draw people to you when you're out.  Confidence is absolutely  necessary when you're dressed to kill!
