Under Construction. Coming back soon.

Quarantine Lifestyle

These past couple of months have been crazy indeed.  It feels like a crazy action movie without the super heroes to save us.  I never thought I would have to wear a mask to go to the grocery store.  Or that the grocery store was one of the few places I could go -_-.  But it is what it is for now.
At least in D.C.

Although it is a scary and unpredictable time, there are some advantages to all of this (not for all of course).  I've been working from home since March 13th and I love it.  I do not miss the office, the commute, the metro, the fake smiles, etc.  At this point, I don't want to go back to that life (I was already over it).  At least not full time.  I have so much more time and energy to take care of myself and do other things that I want and need to do.

But there are still many disadvantages too.  Besides the unfortunate obvious, I do miss being around my loved ones.   I've only been around my boo since this started.  I haven't seen my mother since Christmas and I really miss her.  But I'm glad she's safe and healthy.  This down time has shown me how much we really need each other.

This is my favorite quarantine look.  It's a knit top and maxi skirt set.  My mother gave this to me years ago when she could no longer fit it.  It's so comfortable but still classy.  It makes me feel like the queen of my castle.  I just need to add a crown lol.

This is one of my errand run or long walk looks.  I typically throw on a pair of jeans, a cute top, and some sneakers (yes I own a pair of sneakers lol).  Even though we are on lockdown (some of us), I still like to look and feel cute when I go outside.

Life has slowed down and forced us to appreciate the little things.  Like nature.  I've been using this time to take long walks in my neighborhood (something I haven't done since I moved here).  I've been discovering all the beauty right in my backyard that I never noticed before.  There are so many beautiful gardens, flowers, fountains, and homes in my neighborhood.  Seeing it just makes me
love DC even more.

A free bookstore!!!

One of my neighbors caught me taking pictures of his flowers so he offered me one!
It really made my day!

Seeing all the beautiful gardens inspired me to start my own indoor garden.  I planted these flower seeds less than a week ago and they are already sprouting!  Stay tuned!!

As I mentioned before, I've been using this down time for some much needed self care (highly recommended).  I've been taking candlelit, relaxing baths, working out more, meditating,  and
using masks on my face and feet.
I got this from the Dollar Tree and it is amazing!

I've also been drinking more wine.  I'm not sure if that's good or bad.  It is what it is.  I think many have taken more interest in alcohol during this time lol.  It helps to pass the time.

Like all things, this too shall pass.  Until then, stay safe!  Cheers!!
